Working at Szarvas Camp is a big commitment and also, a huge reward. We are looking for Specialists and Staff members who can dedicate their time and energy to contribute to a safe, secure and wholesome camp experience for our campers.

Over twelve-days, Szarvas Camp creates a deeply impactful experience for the participants, and this depends primarily on the devoted and exemplary work of the leaders working at the camp.

Summary:

Join our growing Szarvas Camp team to build an incredible summer experience for our youth!  As a Specialist, you will play an essential role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers, leading activities, actively participating in the preparation and implementation of programs affecting the entire camp and fostering a positive camp experience. If you have a passion for working with youth, leading programs in a friendly and supportive international environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

SZARVAS 2026 DATES

Precamp: 18 June – 26 June 

(Pre-camp takes place before the sessions. It's purpose is to prepare staff for the upcoming sessions and to bring the team together through shared learning and team-building experiences.)

Sessions:

Session 1: 28 June – 9 July
Session 2: 12 July – 23 July
Session 3: 26 July- 6 August 
Session 4: 9 August – 20 August 

*Each session lasts twelve days, from Sunday till Thursday.

Your responsibilities will be to... 

• supervise campers, always ensuring their safety, health and well-being
• plan, prepare and lead engaging camp activities (e.g., arts & crafts, sports...), at the highest level possible
• assist and participate in daily camp programs and operations
• follow all camp policies, safety protocols, and procedures
• maintain a friendly and informal atmosphere
• foster an inclusive and supportive camp environment by encouraging teamwork and respect among campers
• collaborate with fellow camp staff to create an unforgettable camp experience

If you are someone who... 

• is at least 18 years old
• is fluent in English
• is available to spend at least one full session at Szarvas camp (participation in multiple sessions is preferred)
• can attend preparation processes like Pre-camp and Zoom meetings (workshops) before the summer period according to the specified dates
• has experience and knowledge in the area you would like to work in
• is energetic and enthusiastic
• has leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• enjoys working with kids
• has a clean criminal background (must apply for a certificate of good conduct or other relevant documentation from your home country)
• having experience working with children or youth in a camp, school, or recreational setting is a plus

What does the application process look like?

To join our team, please follow these steps in order.

• Fill out the application form (application form for 2026 is available here)
• We will review your application and reach out to schedule an interview.
• If your application is accepted, we will contact your references, send a written offer and request additional data from you for HR to process your contract.
• Additionally, a certificate of good conduct or other relevant documentation from your home country from your local authorities must be submitted.
• Before starting your job at Szarvas Camp, you will have to sign your contract, sign a waiver and submit a medical form. We will provide all the necessary information regarding these documents.
