About camp life

ACCOMODATION

The accommodation of the campers is in modern, new houses, well-equipped and safe.
For the kids we provide kosher meal 4 times a day. Plus the camp has its own buffet which closes one hour before meals, but reopens after.
The camp has a swimming pool which the campers can use in groups. While the kids are swimming the group leaders and the lifeguard watch their safety.
On the area of the camp there is 3 sport courts (tennis, basketball and football), a ping-pong room and one sport hall which can be used with supervision. The sport gears can be used free. During the camp there are alternative sports facilities as well kie: horse riding, krav maga, canoeing, belly dancing…
Throughout camp life we provide everything for those who want to study (Collection of Jewish Books, Resource Center, Learning Center) and for those who want to relay (teambuilding games, playground).

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Fourth year now, there is an international group too, with participants age 15-18 from many different countries. All programs here are in English. The popular (and getting even more popular) program is recommended for those who want to make international friends for life, in an exciting, English surrounding. This year these international groups will be in the first and third session.
AGE GROUPS
We work with four age groups. The names of the groups are given after Israel’s geographical parts: Negev (age 7-10), Galil (age 11-13), Golan (age 16-16) and Hermon (age 17-18). Those who are in Hermon are the oldest campers, so they have the most rights but have bigger responsibility too. We would like them to take relevant part in the camps life, this is why we are looking forward to those chanichs ( campers) who are ready to do something for the camp, and would like to come back as a madrich (group leader) in the future. Because of this the application to Hermon is comfirmed.

CAMP RULES

The camp services is only available for campers.

  • The camp is non-smoker, smoking is forbidden in the whole camp. This includes the trips and other programs organized during the time of the camp. The camp has house rules. If the house rules are broken by alcohol or drug possession/consumption, leaving the camp without permission, ostentatiously interfering others leads to exclusion from the camp.
  • Purposive damage has to be paid.
  • Pets are not aloud to be brought into the camp because of medical rule.
  • Because the camp is kosher, food can not be brought into the camp.

ABOUT THE VISITING

In favor of the campers and the camps dynamics visiting is only on the camps seventh day, on Sunday. All visitors are very welcome, but the camp is open to everyone only during 14.00 and 18.00. The campers can only be taken out of the camp with living signed by a parent or foster.  If other member of the family wants to take the camper out of the camp it can only be done with the approval of the parent or foster. Visiting on other days has to be allowed and arranged by the camp directors. In this case the guest can stay in the camp with a visitor card.

ABOUT SAFETY

For the time of the camp all children are insured at the Aegon Rt. for general and accident insurance which covers all accidents in the area of the camp, or those programs which are supervised by the camp directors. The camp directors only take responsibility for those above.
The camp fits the NPHMOS (National Public Health and Medical Officer Service) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) rules.
For us to arrive and leave healthy, we ask everyone to visit a doctor at least one week before the departure, and ask for a medical certificate, to prove that the camper can go into community. The camper should bring their social insurance card, or a copy of it.

JUDAISM IN THE CAMP

The camps Judaism is open and pluralistic. We accept every Jewish stream because it is important for everyone to feel at home, whatever surrounding they come from, from the most profane aspect to the most religious. To help this we only eat kosher and keep Shabbat. For lost of children this is their first Shabbat experience.

OTHER

In the camp we try to live environment-conscious and teach the campers too. The used materials are stored environmentally sound, and after are recycled. We installed selective waste collections in the camp.

There are closable safes provided which can be used by the help of a madrich.  We ask everyone to use this safe and close all valuable belongings because for those we can’t bear the responsibility!

There is phone booth in the camp (good with card and money). The phone booth is closed at Shabbat (Friday to Saturday night).
